Autodesk® 2010 Product Line Available
Autodesk® began shipping its new 2010 line of 2D and 3D design and engineering software on March 24, 2009. More than 50 new products offer new features and functionality as well as improved tools for Digital Prototyping, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Infrastructure Modeling, sustainable design and analysis, which will help architects, engineers and designers meet increasing commercial and public sector demand for more energy-efficient buildings, products and infrastructure.

Autodesk's 2010 portfolio boasts expanded tools for energy analysis including the new Autodesk® Ecotect™ Analysis 2010 green building software, a comprehensive sustainable analysis tool that delivers a wide range of simulation and analysis functionality including energy, water, and carbon analysis capabilities with desktop tools to conduct detailed environmental simulations and visualize results. Users of the 2010 Revit® software platform for BIM can now make more informed decisions to optimize sustainable building performance. Autodesk® Revi®t MEP 2010 software now makes it easier for mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers to determine energy demands of a building with native heating and cooling loads analysis, and export enhanced gbXML that provides the ability to examine analytical models of a project before export.

Ideate Announces New eLearning Courses
Ideate, Inc. announces its newest eLearning courses, an updated roster that includes Revit Architecture Family Editor Basics, Visualizing your Civil Engineering Projects in Navisworks and several Revit 2010 Update courses. Most online classes are available at no additional cost to active Premium Support subscribers, including all classes identified as “201” level. All 201 classes are available for individual sale, as well as for custom training: Revit 201: $99, offered every Tuesday; Civil 3D 201: $99, offered every Wednesday; AutoCAD 201: $49, offered every Thursday.

Most courses offer nationally recognized continuing education units (CEUs) that satisfy many associations’ and companies’ requirements for professional development and training. Classes are developed by expert Ideate staff members in conjunction with Ideate’s top power-users to answer the needs of Ideate customers. Ideate's Green BIM Basics Class Now Qualified for HSW Credits
Did you know our Green BIM Basics class meets Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW) requirements? AIA members as well as other licensed architects have mandatory continued education requirement for re-licensing and part of their CEUs must be HSW related. You can attend our Green BIM Basics training in Sacramento May 5th and earn 7 HSW units. Watch for our web site for upcoming dates in other locations.

This course provides an introduction to the use of BIM tools for creating sustainable and ultimately carbon neutral designs. The focus of the class will be on creating quick models for energy and lighting analysis utilizing Revit, Autodesk® Green Building Studio®, and Autodesk® 3ds Max® Design. We have extended the Introduction price of $495 (regularly $895) through June 30.
