Autodesk Working to Resolve Issues with Civil 3D 2009 Service Pack 2
Autodesk has recently pulled Civil 3D 2009 Service Pack 2 from their website due to reports of Surface modeling issues after installation. The issue being reported causes Civil 3D 2009 to generate external .MMS files with small surfaces that cause the surface to disappear from the working drawing. In the past .MMS files were created for surfaces in excess of 2 million points, however this seems to be occurring with surfaces as small as 500 points in some cases, after the installation of SP2. 

While Autodesk works to resolve these issues, they have removed SP2 from their Downloads and Updates website. If you have already downloaded SP2, we strongly recommend that you do not install it at the current time. Please delete the SP2 file you currently have and wait until a new version has been released on the Civil 3D 2009 Downloads and Updates website.

Autodesk Hotfix: AutoCAD Map 3D 2009 SHP Import Export
This hotfix corrects the following issues:

• Exporting polygons to the SHP format using the MAPEXPORT command does not enforce an outer clockwise orientation, which is preferred by the SHP format.
• Exporting multi-polygons to the SHP format using the MAPEXPORT command results in multiple single polygons.
• Importing polygons with arcs using the MAPIMPORT command creates incorrect geometry in certain cases.
